Chinese pediatric massage (or pediatric tui na) is a specialized practice within the professional medical field of tui na. Massage techniques and points are adapted to fit the unique physical and energetic characteristics of children, whose physical and energetic structure are developing and are not exactly like an adult.
Massage can be used for a large variety of pediatric conditions, both acute and chronic, like: colic, common cold, constipation, diarrhea and poor digestion. It may also be used to support general overall health.
A pediatric massage session will last 10 to 20 minutes. If interested, I teach parents how to do three points at home, for 3 to 5 min. This kind of daily home massage can be very supportive and often reduces the need for professional treatments. Click on the image to the right to view a video clip.
